AFC South Preview

Projected Finish
Indianapolis Colts 13-3
Jacksonville Jaguars 10-6
Tennessee Titans 8-8
Houston Texans 4-12

Houston Texans
Offensive Strength:
Running Back - The Texans’ rushing game should be improved over last season simply because the addition of Ahman Green means no more running back by committee. Instead this season will feature Green as the primary workhorse with Ron Dayne coming in for short yardage situations.

Offensive Weakness: Line – The Texans gave up 43 sacks last season in what was their first using the zone blocking scheme. Obviously you can’t get much worse than that but Houston might try. Left Tackle Charles Spencer still is a question mark for the season opener and the line as a whole should feature pretty much the same cast.

Defensive Strength: Linebackers – DeMeco Ryans is the best linebacker on the Texans roster and will anchor the middle for years to come. The additions of Danny Clark and Shawn Barber add additional depth to an already solid corps.

Defensive Weakness: Secondary – The Texans are making a habit of finishing near the bottom of the league in interceptions. Houston returns the same crew who only managed 11 picks all last season to the defensive backfield again this season.
