Losing Streak Ends

The Mariners have stopped the bleeding, at least for now, with a 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants Friday night. Seattle didn’t make up any ground in the division though because both Texas and Oakland were winners as well.

What the win did however was stop a three game losing streak that the Mariners were on and provide a much needed win before the team takes off on a nine game road trip on Tuesday.

The heroes of the game for Seattle were Ichiro who went yard on the Mariner’s first at bat of the game and J.J. Putz who picked up his 11 save in 12 attempts by striking out Barry Bonds with a breaking ball to end the game.

Seattle has two more games at home against the Giants on Saturday and Sunday.
