Sooner Baseball Team Off to a 5-1 Start

OU completed a three game sweep of Western Illinois on Sunday, outscoring the Leathernecks 36-5 for the series.

The Sooners started the season at the UTPA Tournament were they lost to Lamar after beating Texas State and Texas-Pan American during the first two days.

Oklahoma is led in scoring by Chuckie Caufield (pictured)who has scored 10 runs on 12 hits in 27 at bats. Caufield has hit 3 doubles, 1 triple and knocked in 8 RBI’s.

Up next for the Sooners is the Rice Tournament this coming weekend where OU will have a chance to redeem their loss to Lamar. OU will face Lamar for the second time on Saturday.
