On the heels of the assault allegations over the weekend comes the news that a UT player was arrested and has been charged for having a prohibited weapon. Here is what the Dallas Morning News had to say about it.
Texas receiver Myron Hardy, a sophomore who is redshirting this season, has been charged with a Class A misdemeanor for carrying a prohibited weapon.
According to police records, Hardy was arrested at 2:37 a.m. on Nov. 6 by Austin police for being in possession of a “butterfly-style knife” that operates like a switchblade, making it a prohibited weapon. Hardy was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
Hardy requested in Travis County court that an attorney be appointed to him. Neither Hardy nor his lawyer could immediately be reached for comment. Hardy, an Austin McNeil product, appeared in four games in 2004, catching one pass for three yards before redshirting in 2005.
What they didn’t tell you is that he pulled the knife in a fight. That is why the police were called in the first place.
