Holiday Bowl Update, 3 Ducks Suspended

Since OU will be playing the Oregon Ducks in the Holiday Bowl on December 29th I feel it is my responsibility to help keep the Sooner Nation informed on what those quacks from Eugene are up to.

Here is something I found on eDuck Sports. None of these guys are starters or really even contributors, but hey it’s still dirt on the other team.

EUGENE – Three University of Oregon football players will not accompany the team to San Diego for its Dec. 29 Holiday Bowl appearance against the University of Oklahoma for a failure to adhere to team policies, according to the Ducks’ head coach Mike Bellotti.

Sophomore Shawn Flanagan as well as first-year freshmen Matt Bramow and Mark Sunga have been suspended for the school’s bowl game as a result of separate incidents. Flanagan missed the entire 2005 season due to a shoulder injury while neither Bramow or Sunga played during their first years at the collegiate level and would have four years of eligibility remaining.

Bramow and Sunga will continue to practice with the Ducks through their final Eugene workout Monday, Dec. 19, before Oregon resumes practices in San Diego Dec. 23. The three players will not be allowed to rejoin the program until after the start of the winter academic term Jan. 9.
