Cotton Bowl Puts OU/Texas on the Clock

The Cotton Bowl and the City of Dallas unveiled plans to renovate the 75-year old Cotton Bowl Stadium. The plan would include upgrade seats, concession stands, scoreboards and restrooms, in addition to increasing the capacity to over 92,000 seats.

The renovations won't start at all, however, unless Texas and Oklahoma agree to a long-term extension to keep their annual game in Dallas.

Right now, the Cotton Bowl is only used for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, the Texas-OU game, and the Prairie View-Grambling game. Dallas has also approached Texas Tech & Texas A&M about playing their annual game in Dallas.
